Steve Garvey - Appearance at Black Angus in Buena Park - Recap & Photos

Dodger Legend Steve Garvey made an appearance today at the Black Angus in the City of Buena Park.  The event was sponsored by KABC AM790 radio.  AM790 had several drawings giving away pairs of tickets to upcoming Dodger games.  Garvey was scheduled to sign from 6pm - 7pm so arrived about an hour early at 5pm.  I would guess I was within the first 75 people in line.  I really didn't get a look at how long the line got behind me.  The staff at Black Angus and the KABC staff kept the line orderly and moving quickly.  Garvey was set-up in a corner of the Bulls Eye Bar and as you can see from the picture above, he had a nice cold beer in front of him!  The initial word was that he was signing  multiple items for the first 50 people in line.  A frequent reader of the TruetotheBlue blog and frequent attendee at these signings, David, was one of the first few people to exit with his autographs.  David had about 4 or 5 items signed and informed us that Garvey was inscribing & personalizing items per your request.

By the time I got inside about a 1/2 hour later, I had my two baseballs signed without any problems.  As soon as I started to walk away from the table, I heard one of the KABC staff announce only one item per person.  I have no idea if this held up.  Overall it was an excellent signing and experience.  Not alot of people were asking to take pictures so it kept the line moving.  I want to give a shout-out to David who I already mentioned and to the guys I met in line today.  Armando, Paul aka "the rookie", Oscar the Angels fan, Alex & Francisco.  Francisco was lucky enough to win a pair of tickets during one of the drawings.
