Preview of Clayton Kershaw Bobblehead and new A.J. Ellis Bobblehead

On Thursday April 24, 2014, the Dodgers will host the Phillies and the 50,000 fans in attendance will receive a Clayton Kershaw bobblehead.  The picture above gives us a look at the Dodgers first bobblehead giveaway of the 2014 season.  Kershaw is mid-delivery and on each side of this right foot are his two Cy Young Award plaques.  I can't wait to see what the other bobbleheads look like.

The Dodgers announced today they have added another bobblehead to this year's stadium giveaways.  Catcher A.J. Ellis will get his first bobblhead.  A.J.'s wife posted the following on her twitter account.

Today the Dodgers announce via their official twitter account that Cindy Ellis's birthday wish will come true on Sunday September 7, 2014.

Julio Cesar Chavez Autograph Signing - Photos & Recap

On Sunday January 19, 2014, El Gran Campeon de Mexico, Julio Cesar Chavez was scheduled to sign autographs at the OC Dugout from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  Having purchased my ticket ahead of time, I arrived at approximately 1:30pm and picked up my will call tickets.  There were three lines outside the OC Dugout. The VIP line, which I was in, the regular line and the line for those that had purchased photo ops.

The former champ didn't show up on time and was around an hour late.  After taking some time to sign mail in items and items for the promoters, OC Dugout and Honabach and Sons, Chavez began taking photos with those who purchased photo ops.  Once the photos were complete, he started signing for those that purchased VIP tickets.  The line was steady moving but not that fast.  Once I made it to the front, I noticed that Chavez was wearing his sunglasses inside.  After I laughed a little bit, I put out my two items thanked him for his time and headed home.

Another great signing brought to you by the OC Dugout and Honabach and Sons.  It was a shame Chavez was late to the signing but you can't hold that against the promoters.  Take a look at the items I got signed below.

James Worthy Autograph Signing - Photos & Recap

James Worthy signing my NBA basketball

On Saturday January 18, 2014, James worth was scheduled to sign autographs at Frank & Son from 11:00 am to 12:00pm.  I had previously dropped off my NBA basketball to Honabach and Sons for their private signing with former Laker Byron Scott.  I arrived at Frank & Son at 10:30am to pick up my basketball and will call ticket for the James Worthy signing.  After picking up my tickets I headed to the VIP line and by my estimate I was about thirtieth in line.

James Worthy arrived at around 11:00am and after spending a few minutes in the back, he came out and started signing.  This was my first time attending a James Worthy signing and as a life long Lakers fan, I was glad to scratch this one off my list.  James was very cordial and polite and after he signed my ball I said thank you and he thanked me for coming out.  It was another good signing put on by Honabach and Sons.  I would estimate there were 150-175 people in line for the signing.

Take a look at the photos of my ball below.  Both Byron Scott and James Worthy were members of the Lakers 1985, 1987 and 1988 NBA Championship teams.

Dennis Harrah Autograph Signing - Photos & Recap

On December 23, 2013, former Los Angeles Ram offensive guard Dennis Harrah was scheduled to appear at Tacos & Tequila at Morongo Casino.  All season long former L.A. Ram and Detroit Lions tight end David Hill has hosted a Monday Night Football party at Tacos & Tequila.  Every week along with David Hill, a former NFL player joins him.  The previous week I drove out to Morongo to meet former Ram Reggie Doss, linked here, so I figured i'd drive out again to meet Dennis Harrah.  Harrah played 13-seasons for the Los Angeles Rams from 1975 through 1987.  Harrah was a 6x Pro Bowler and 7x All-Pro during his career.  Additionally, he was voted All America in 1974 while attending University of Miami aka "The U".

I arrived about half hour before the Monday Night Football game and once the game started Harrah was walking around the restaurant thanking everyone for coming out.  While talking to him, I asked if he would sign some items for me.  He signed the photo above for me in a silver sharpie paint marker but I gave it to my nephew before I took a picture of it.  Take a look at the other items he signed for me below.  Thanks to Edgar at My Autograph Events for posting the info about the signing.

Reggie Doss Autograph Appearance - Photos & Recap

8x10 signed with a Staedtler marker

On Monday December 16, 2013, former L.A. Ram Reggie Doss was scheduled to appear at Tacos & Tequila at Morongo Casino.  All season long former L.A. Ram and Detroit Lions tight end David Hill has hosted a Monday Night Football party at Tacos & Tequila.  Every week along with David Hill, a former NFL player joins him.  It's not very often former L.A. Rams are in the Southern California signing autographs so I thought i'd leave work early and head out to Morongo.  Reggie Doss played his entire 10-year NFL career, 1978-1987, with the Los Angeles Rams. During his tenure, the Rams made the playoffs 7-times including an appearance in Super Bowl XIV.    Thanks to Edgar at My Autograph Events for the info on the appearance.

Since this was my first time at one of these events at Morongo, I arrived at around 5:00pm for the 5:30pm MNF start time.  At around 5:25pm, the event organizers started handing out raffle tickets to everyone in attendance.  At the end of the first quarter, they raffled off two 8x10 autographed photos of Reggie Doss, an 8x10 autographed photo of David Hill, and an NCAA replica football signed by both Doss and Hill.  I was lucky enough to win the signed football!  After receiving my football, I asked both David Hill and Reggie Doss if they would sign some of my items.  As you can see in the picture above, Reggie Doss signed my color 8x10 and I was going to have him sign a second one of the exact same picture when he asked if he could have the photo.  Since he was kind enough to sign multiple items for me and I won a football, I let him have the picture.  Plus, I didn't mind since it was an extra.  I also had two Los Angeles Rams yearbooks with me and both Doss and Hill signed the inside pages where their bios appeared.  The last item he signed (see below) was a black and white 8x10 of him sacking former Vikings quarterback Tommy Kramer.  He also liked this photo so much, he asked if he could have it.  Since it was my only one, I respectfully declined but told him I would get him one.  Overall, it was a great experience.  I got to talk L.A. Rams football with some former Rams and came away with a few autographs.

Preston Dennard Autograph Signing - Photos and Recap

December 6th through December 9th, 2013, I traveled to Arizona to watch the St. Louis Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals.  On Saturday December 7th, the Arizona Chapter of the So Cal Rams Booster Club had a rally at a local Mexican restaurant.  Former Los Angeles Ram wide receiver Preston Dennard was scheduled to sign autographs at the rally.  Dennard played for the Rams from 1978 through 1983.  He finished up his career playing 1984 with the Buffalo Bills and 1985 with the Green Bay Packers.  The above picture is my nephew and Preston Dennard.

Take a look below at this YouTube video of Dennard catching a touchdown from Vince Ferragamo in Week 15 of 1980 on Monday Night Football.

Here is the 8x10 and two football cards I got signed by Dennard.
