On Monday September 15, 2014, Clippers All-Star Blake Griffin was scheduled for an autograph appearance from 5pm to 6pm at the OC Dugout. The signing was promoted by the OC Dugout in conjunction with Panini America. I had purchased my tickets ahead of time so I arrived at 4:30pm to pick up my tickets and get in line.
Due to Monday traffic Blake was over 35-minutes late. While everyone was patiently waiting, staff from OC Dugout and others passed out packs of Panini cards. Each person in line received a pack. We were told to open them together and the person with the shortest player would win an autographed McFarlane Blake Griffin figure. The person who pulled a Jose Altuve card won the contest.
Once Griffin arrived, he started signing immediately. Fans were allowed to take lean-in photos with Blake and each autograph came with a certificate of authenticity from Panini. Blake was very humble and gracious and patiently took photos with everyone that asked. The line moved quickly and once Blake had started signing I was out of there within 20 minutes.
Take a look at my pictures below. Thanks to OC Dugout and Panini for an awesome event!
True to the Blue!
