Bill Walton Autograph Signing - Photos and Recap

On Saturday November 30, 2013, Bill Walton was scheduled to participate in a meet and greet at the Tilted Kilt in Orange, California.  Walton was scheduled to arrive at 2:00pm however, he was just over an hour late due to traffic.  He promised he was said everything for everyone in line.  True to his word, he signed multiple items for everyone in line.  He even had several pre-signed items that he offered to fans as well.  He was at the Tilted Kilt to promote Azunia Tequila.  In September of 2012, he was promoting Azunia at the OC Sports Grill.  You can read my recap of that event by clicking right here.

Once he arrived, he began signing.  He was real friendly with everyone in attendance and took pictures with anyone who asked.  Since I have a few items already signed by Walton, I only wanted to get a few 8x10s signed.  As I approached him to get my items signed, we both looked up at one of the flat screens in front of us.  Alabama was playing Auburn and Alabama was about to attempt a game winning field goal.  Both Walton and I watched the field goal attempt and watched as Chris Davis from Auburn caught the missed field goal and ran it back the length of the field for the game winning touchdown!  It was one of the most amazing finishes to a college football game ever and I got to watch it with HOFer Bill Walton!

Check out the items I got signed below.

I got two of these 8x10s signed

Bill Walton has to be one of the most fan friendly HOFers around!  He was very generous with his time and signed multiple items.  Additionally, he posed for pictures and added inscriptions upon request!

Nomar Garciaparra Joins Dodgers Broadcast Team

Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that Nomar Garciaparra will join the Dodgers broadcast team.  In January 2013, Time Warner Cable announced they had secured the Dodgers television rights and announced plans for a Dodgers channel called SportsNet LA.  Although Time Warner Cable and the Dodgers have made no official announcement, Dilbeck is reporting Garciaparra is expected to be part of the pregame and post-game team.

This is on the heels of Fox Sports reporting that the Dodgers are also pursuing Orel Hershiser to be part of the broadcast booth.  It has been reported that Hershiser's contract with ESPN will expire soon.  Hershiser would definitely be an upgrade from Steve Lyons during Dodger road broadcasts.  Additionally, Garciaparra will also be a major upgrade over Steve Lyons during pre and post-game shows.  It will be interesting to see the new channel take shape.
